Title: Last Leg of the race

1 Cor 9: 24 - 27
Talks about fixing our eyes on the crown and being constantly
motivated to work hard and run for the crown.

1) Play by the rules (sound familiar rite.. tink wk preached before also)
We have spiritual rules to follow.
luke9:23-27
Judge by what the Lord calls us to do. if we want to be a disciple, we
need to take up the cross daily.
Q: In which way has you deny yourselves to be christian?

DO we deny ourselves? DO we sacrifice and radicate sin?

Mark9:42-48
Radicate Sin from our lives. We are constantly facing temptations and
worldly pressure in life. therefore it is important to cut off our
sins daily. keeping a tight rein of ourselves. something abt what he
shared inspired as well.. not to be over reliance on worldly
materials. Eg internet and high technology. sometimes due to such
reliance on these equipment that prevent us from being close to god.

mark 16: 15-16
we cant be a christian when we are not close with god. we need to
believe, trust and be baptised:)

2) Keep up the pace

Acts 20: 22 - 24

finish the race that god have set for us.
Q: how re we doing on running the race? are we becoming less
enthusiastic in sharing our faith. reaching out to the lost.

Heb12: 1-3
most of the time the disciples face the most is growing weary and lost
heart. over the years, people get discouraged and forgot the time
where they first started out and are closest to god. doing alot of
good things like glorifying god in all areas. people lost their first
love for god.we need to run with determination and perseverance so
that we can withstand the challenges in long run and reach for the
crown at the last leg.

Matt13:11 -15

Q: when was the last time you are deeply convicted abt a lesson and
felt dramatic need to change? are you cut to the heart especially when
we are about to drift away?

lord is always waiting for us to turn back when we are not doing well
spiritually. he is constantly waiting for our calloused heart to be
soften when we face issues in life that lead to us hardening out
heart.

an interesting eg he gave us was the 'evil score keeper' who give him
a red card that causes him to be out of a basketball match. this
resulted to the team lo although he become very bitter and have B.A
toward this 'evil score keeper' , he shl felt the need to reach out to
her. to apologise for his b.a and invite her to church. unbelievable
fact was, she is a elder in another church yet when she attend the
church for the first time, she was inspired. and she is getting
baptised soon.
amen...

this eg really motivate me to confront my B.A toward my grp mate..
really felt that she was tt 'evil project mate' that god is testing me
to reach out to her... hopefully it will soften my heart.....

lastly..

heb3:7-14
DOnt be rebellious. dont harden your heart. fellowhsip that challenges
one another is impt for us to grow. sometimes we just allow
mediocrity. just following the crowd. might be in the same group yet
no one speak the truth in love.
let's encouraged and look out for each other's heart.

well well.. decided to type out tis sermon.. was totally blew away!! inspired to learn from doug..:)

finally.. all my projects, presentations are over!!.. left 1 last in class exam and final assignment duee on monday....

then comes.. EXAMS...
