SAWADEE ka......
i learnt so much abt myself.. i tink tis is one of the most reflective and meaningful trip i had with someone... thx to sera and her family.. i get to enjoy something tt i might not get if i had went with others...
we did many interesting things tgr.. and our goal was very simple.. we wanted to bond tgr and deepen our friendship w one another and our walk with god as well...
things started off really well.. although sera was kinda sick for the first few days...
day 1.. 6.00am @ airport Terminal 1
my parents sent me off and we are on our way to the beautiful city : Bangkok...
we checked in and was sent off by Wilfred who was working at such an early hour... den we said our first prayer at the transit place while waiting to board the plane... after tt we managed to catch the goals tt germany played the night before... wat an exciting game with poland.. cos.. they only scored in at the very last min... and it nearly caused us to miss our plane as we were too engrossed with the goal.. ahahhaha but.. thx god.. we din.. and we got into the plane jus in time...
food was nice @ the plane.. i love taking flights.. so fun to be above the land up in the sky... makes me feel real close to heaven..:)
when we reached bangkok... we were warmly welcomed by the staff in Intercontential Hotel... and.. woah... we got to be chauffeur in a mercedes and brought safely to the hotel... hahaha..
and.. woah again.. cos the hotel was so cool..... the environment the place the ambience.. everything was just perfect....
due to the fact tt we are earlier den sera's mum and the room was not ready... i decided to go w our itinerary.. ahahha... PLatinUm WholESale Shopping Centre...the place is really cheap... heehee.. well.. i really enjoyed shopping.. w sera n ej:)
our room makes us just wanna sleep in and "NUA" around.. this is something tt was never in my dictionary but i learn from Sera's family.. ahhaha.. but a restless me.. how is it possible man.. ahahaha.
we took some crazy pics and after tt.. since we only had breakfast... we went for lunch at this really nice Thai restaurant... they served really authentic and delicious thai food.. tom yum:0
after the sumptous and heavy meal.. it is time for a walk.. ahahhaa... so we decided to go MBK.... we walk around.. and.. everywhere the price was the same.. how much does it cost? woman replied.. 1 9 9... very cheap.. 1 9 9.... and the way they say it.. the tune was so catchy and almost irritating.. ahhahaha.....
after tt... we went back to the hotel room... really for our soccer match.. woohoo..hahaha.... england n saubi.. great job england....
me n sera get to end of our day by praying and just evaluating how the whole day has been.. really inspired and convicting... day 1 of bangkok...:)
Day 2... Bangkok City :0
Bright n Shine... we woke up with a great start... all fresh.. we sang song to god and had our very first devotion tgr... led by sera.. on deepening our relationship w god.. taken from hosea... the most impacting passage :) great job ger.. it really help me alot to deepen my convictions and inspired to develop such closeness with god....after tt aunty kim prayed and we started off a great day
Breakfast... woah again... the international buffet breakfast.. have almost all kind of food...so many varieties to choose from... yeah... after the heavy meal.... we decide to go back to platinum..also to change some stuff tt ej brought tt was not suitable size...
after tt.. ej went off earlier to meet aunty kim for golf.. and it was left w me n sera.. we decided to go for JAP food.. yippeee... ahhaha.. my fav... and.. also sera's heh..
i ordered my all time fav chirashi rice.. and sera ordered cha soba... ahahha... it was totally
FULL-FILLING... den slack around and walk around the shopping centre....
we then proceed back to the hotel.. cos sera is not feeling well.. better to let her rest..:)
since the Restless nature of me... i soon was pretty bored in the room.. den.. i mustered my courage.. to explore Bangkok on my own.. ahhahaha....left the room...
Being on my own.. i learn so much more to trust in god and really rely on him for encouragement, strength and support... i used the bridge and walk from our hotel all the way to SIAM Paragon.. woah.. the distance was far yet near... ahhahaa.. i totally enjoyed myself jus being alone w god and experiencing the culture of bangkok city.. seeing a different sight of bangkok altogether...being like a typically bangkok girl... ahhaha...
At first was afraid to go to the small shops around siam square.. so i went to the big shopping centre first.. SIAM paragon, SIAM Discovery Centre.. den to MBK..... hahaha... the joy of just looking.. shopping.. seeing.. buying... i really enjoyed it... and.. the thing was.. i din even feel i was alone.. cos i noe tt god is with me all the time..:) i just trusted him...he was guiding me in spirit
after tt.. it was abt time to go back.. i decided to venture into a new place.. SIAM Sq.. it was the more laid back and messy area.. but.. i realised tt behind tt dirty area.. it was such a treasure.. so many more stuff to see, buy and it was so much cheaper.... much better den shopping centres....but it was kinda late and i wanted to go back to see how sera was... so.. i decided to come back the nx day to see...
walking back the distance seem shorter but i was sweating and panting when i reached back the hotel... air con was such a great comfort.... heehee.. shared w sera my adventure.. and she was feeling better alre.. great:)
so we spend time and share abt different issues.. and we get to pray by the window where we can view the whole city of bangkok... it was magnificent view... and i was really grateful for all the things tt god created....
soon.. EJ and aunty KIm came back from golfing... rested and slack ard... we went dinner tgr....since no one have much preference... i suggested to go central chitlom.. the place tt Jaq told me abt.. it was abit like marche... only thing there are more variety of food...nice ambience and great food:P affordable as well....
after tt... we decided to go back hotel room.. catch abit of soccer... ahahah... and me n sera get to evaluate our day and the ups and downs we faced.... prayed to god and had a good night sleep.. all ready for saturday.. JatuJak...:)
Day 3 : Bangkok City
rise and shine.. my turn to share for devotion.... and my topic was.. how to use our talent to shine for god.... i shared from the parable of the talents.. got to sing 2 songs... my fav song too.. GREAT AMONG THE NATIONS... hehe...got each of us to share abt our talents tt god blessed us with and how can we make use of it to glorify god...:P
after tt... we had breakfast... and proceed to JatuJak... yeah..:P
the place was.... woooaaahhhh... super messy.. hot.. sticky and dirty.. but i LOVE it... i love to explore, to see new things.. and get fascinated by the stuff they sold.... bought quite a bit of stuff... but overall.. i enjoyed myself... although was jus a couple of hours spent.. but the experience.. was totally worth it....
later.. we went back the hotel room, since the heat and the place make all of us quite tired n sticky.. we rested untill our stomach felt hungry...ahhaha.. so.. thx to aunty kim.. we ordered room service.. even the food tasted so delicious....den sera went to rest since she is still not well.. poor ger... but i hope u get to enjoy the trip as well...
i decided to go out again.. and visit Siam sq.. the one tt i din get to explore the day before... this time round.. i try to take the train... and.. it was the best decision ever.. hahaa.. it was like our MRT but using farecard instead of ez link...so cool... took one station from chit lom to siam....had fun shopping... and enjoy the culture... took abit photos as well.. ahhaha.. i m so grateful tt i have a digital cam... it is the best invention ever!
after tt.. went back to hotel since dinner at paragon was cancelled as sera was having a high fever.. but thankfully.. when i returned.. she felt better... we got time tgr.. prayed and slack ard before finally deciding tt we want to get more jap food at BIG C.. ahhaah.. tis time round.. we brought EJ as well.... ordered more food and had a blast... the night life in bangkok was cool and we even brought grape juice and biscuit for communion the next day.... heeehee.. we are prepared to rem the sacrifice christ had for us:)
walking back to hotel.. there are different stuff sold along the way... and things to see as well.. tinking back.. i miss this culture.. which is so different from spore..
went back to hotel room... and we evaluate the day and spend time and pray abt different things.. our relationship w ppl ard us and for our campus ministry...i m realy grateful abt our ministry being a place where we can grow and learn from one another...
went to watch soccer at the lounge but we managed to survive till half time and decided to go back room to sleep.. ahahha....
Day 4..
SUNDAY... our very first BEST FRIEND MINISTRY SERVICE>...
ahhahaha...
sera did welcome..for us.. ahahha..
i did communion... the passage where jesus prayed at olive garden... and how he sacrificed on the cross for us....
sera did poor contribution..
i did the sharing for the lesson part 1.. on james 1.. how we can be humble to the word and have faith and deeds together.. and sera closed up by sharing abt our relationship with god...
wow... one word to describe everything..: AWESOME:)
after tt... we proceed downstair to have our breakfast... hehe... the 3 time in 4 days at bangkok....when we are done w breakfast.... i brought sera to experience bangkok life.. since she had felt so much better.. hehe...seeing and taking pics on our way...
den when we reached MBK.. brought her to tis warehouse shop whereby they sell all american brands tt is at super cheap price....
before we noticed the time... sera's mum called... bought our stuff den went to meet her mum....
they were at Lotus Garden... hmm.. outskirt area from the town...so.. both of us.. tot the leap of faith.. and follow the taxi driver to this place where both ej n aunty kim played golf...
by staying positive tt he ll bring us to the right place.. we both realised tt he ended up bringing us around bangkok..CITY TOUR>...hhahaha.. we were liked? ????? where sia...
finally... we reached the club house... met up w aunty kim 's friend.. she had 2 beautiful daughters.. and.. they stayed in such a beautiful house....hehe
later in the evening.. we went back to MBK.. bought some last min stuff... den head back to hotel...
this day was the most interesting day... many things happened.. we get to be really open abt our feelings and things we both struggle and need to work on... i m really grateful to learn more abt myself as well as also get to know the deeper side of sera... definitely there are more to come in the friendship.. but at least.. we had started the very first step tgr...
we ended this super long day.. but going mad.. singing many many songs and even watched abit of RAY...
FINAL day.. 5 HOME SWEET HOME!
the day to go back liao.... slept late... supposed to wake up at 10am.. but.. nvm.. ehhe.. decided to have devo in the afternn.. hoping tt aunty kim n ej can join us.... went for brunch.. cos breakfast time over liao.... went back to PLATINUM.. where we started shall be where we end.. ahahhaha... got more clothes for the sisters...:P den... proceed to food court to get cheap authentic thai food... after tt.. when back.... realised time is running out.. din get to swim.. but instead.. managed to share my final lesson for devo.... abt how we can make use of our talents with 3 different ways.. 1) understand tt our talents is given by god 2) it takes time and effort to develop our talents 3) we need to constantly put it into practice.... ended of with a prayer.. tt makes the end of this beautiful trip at bangkok...
to me.. i m grateful... to god for all the blessings he done for me.... being able to experience a lifestyle in a totally different culture... to have such a deep time with him.. and also being able to learn to deal with different strength n weaknesses... it was one of the most memorable trip as i got to have deep QT and close walk with god daily.... it was such a inspiring trip for me....
i m truly grateful to sera and her family for making me feel so welcome... especially her mum for sponsoring me the trip... without her.. i might not enjoy such luxury... i thx my parents for providing me the funds for this trip... i guess.. i m one of the most fortunate kids.. with the love of god, family and friends....
